Roman Šilha joins EP Global Commerce and VESA Equity Investment as new Head of M&A, Brendan Massam becomes the CFO and Branislav Miškovič appointed the Investment Director of VESA

After the substantial growth in the area of equity investments outside of energy and infrastructure, the Board of EP Global Commerce (EPGC) and VESA Equity Investment (VESA) has decided to put in place a dedicated management team for both companies.
Roman Šilha was appointed the Head of Mergers and Acquisitions of EPGC and VESA. He has more than 25 years’ experience in investment and corporate banking. He served as Chairman of the Board and CEO of CAIB Czech Republic&Slovakia from 2007, in 2010 moved to UniCredit Bank as Head of Large Corporate Clients and from 2015 he was Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking in the Czech Republic&Slovakia. He spent last two years in Vienna, Austria working as Senior Strategic Advisor to the Head of Corporate, Investment and Private Banking of UniCredit in CEE region. Mr. Šilha holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Charles University in Prague and the Graduate School of Banking in Colorado. In his new role he will be responsible for strategy and corporate development of existing investments in portfolio of EPGC and VESA as well as for search and execution of new investment opportunities.
Brendan Massam has been appointed the Chief Financial Officer of EPGC and VESA. Brendan was previously CFO of EP Power Europe, a position that he held since 2017. He has more than 20 years of experience in investment banking, most recently as Managing Director in the J.P. Morgan Leveraged Finance team in London where he worked for 10 years, prior to which he spent 10 years at Deutsche Bank in London, New York and Singapore. Mr. Massam holds a bachelor’s degree of Engineering with Honors in Civil Engineering from Curtin University of Technology in Perth and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School in New York.
Branislav Miškovič was appointed the Investment Director of VESA. Branislav is a Member of the Board of Mall Group and Czech Media Invest including select subsidiaries. Since 2013, he is a member of the M&A team of EPH. Prior to joining EPH, he spent 3 years in J.P Morgan in London and had several internships with Google. Mr. Miškovič holds a master´s degree from the University of Economics in Prague as well as CEMS Master in collaboration with Copenhagen Business School. In his new role he will monitor and evaluate performance of the portfolio and provide support to the Board of Directors in preparation and execution of VESA’s investment strategy.
EP Global Commerce is the owner of 29.9% stake in Metro AG, a leading German based food wholesaler with EUR 27bn of sales worldwide and operating almost 700 stores. EP Global Commerce is the single largest shareholder in the Metro AG.
VESA Equity Investment holds non-controlling shareholding stakes in multiple publicly listed companies including Casino GuichardPerrachon, Macy’s, Royal Mail Group or Foot Locker. VESA also supports Czech Media Invest in managing the stake in ProSiebenSat.1.
Both EPGC and VESA were founded and are held by Daniel Křetínský, the controlling shareholder with 53% ownership, and his long-term partner Patrik Tkáč, with 47% ownership.
